This week I try … a triple hair-colour treatment
Lowdown I just don't know where all these greys have come from! My hair looks fab when it is first coloured, but the grey landing strip becomes evident a couple of weeks before my next visit. My colourist, Damien Rayner, blends the balayage technique (where blonde colour is hand-painted on) with permanent colour applied with foils and a base colour worked over my roots and the rest of my hair. The process finishes with a fiveminute toner application. Damien says, "You should go a little softer and lighter as you age to complement skin tone and reduce the severity of the regrowth."

It's quite therapeutic.
Downtime This clever colour combination can take up to three hours, including a blow-dry, and I do it every five to six weeks.
Results My hair is now a lovely mix of honey, cinnamon and cream, with not a grey hair in sight.
