Chrisette Michele Wants Black Women to Take Charge Of Their Health

As women, finding time to take care of ourselves can be a major challenge: from stressful jobs and raising children, to being caretakers of our family — even finding time for our girlfriends can be extremely difficult. 

Singer Chrisette Michele wants to help. At this year’s ESSENCE Festival she discussed her commitment to helping Black women feel their best. A trained yoga instructor,  Michele says she wants Black women to not only practice self-care but also prioritize their health.   

One easy suggestion we can all do?

Michele says focusing on our breath and learning breathing techniques to help calm anxiety — a skill she learned early as a child from her parents. Yoga and other wellness practices are a part of her daily routine and used to keep her feeling her best. 

In addition to teaching yoga, the wellness advocate recently launched an inclusive workout line called, Rich Hipster Belle Collection.
