Ahmed Hegazi will not face retrospective action for his alleged punch on Danny Ings.
The West Brom defender was involved in an altercation with the Liverpool striker during Saturday afternoon’s 2-2 draw.
As the two tussled on for the ball, it appeared that Hegazi had put a clenched fist into the stomach of Ings.
Ings immediately shot to his feet to protest to the officials but his complaints fell on deaf ears.
The incident was missed by referee Stuart Attwell and was subsequently reviewed by a panel of former referees.
But they could not reach a unanimous decision and therefore no action will be taken.
The panel were understood to have taken into account the fact that Hegazi did not appear to use much or any force in the action, thus not determining it violent conduct.
