Alastair Campbell made his official debut on Good Morning Britain on 10 May, sitting next to Susanna Reid as they delivered the news and discussed the day's biggest stories.
The former Labour spin doctor was announced as a guest host to replace controversial presenter Piers Morgan following his explosive exit in March after making remarks about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over their Oprah chat.
While many were left delighted by Alastair's performance on the programme, some were not convinced as they noticed an "annoying" habit he had.
"Please ask @campbellclaret to stop waving his pen around on @GMB Very annoying Alastair," one person wrote on Twitter.
Another chimed: "How annoying is Alastair Campbell fiddling with his bloody pen.. He sounds nervous and looks lost..any politician would tear him a new a*****e.Lucky he has Susanna there to show him how its done."
A third added: "I hope Alistair Campbell isn’t going to be a permanent fixture on #GMB. Absolutely no personality. I’d rather have #piersmorgan back and I couldn’t stand him either."
However, clearly leaving viewers divided by his time sitting next to 50 year old Susanna, others said they hoped for him to stay on as a permanent host.
"One day in and Alastair Campbell is a brilliant Bloke better than Piers Morgan. #GoodMorningBritain #GMB #AlastairCampbell,' one person wrote.
A second said: "Please make Alastair Campbell a permanent presenter. I'll start watching the programme again if you do. If not I'm with the BBC."
As a third commented: "What an upgrade Alastair Campbell is on Piers Morgan, might actually start watching GMB a bit more regularly".

Alastair announced he would be stepping in to fill Piers' shoes in late April as he tweeted: "So weird to be wearing suit and tie. Been in at @GMB checking the presenter chair and seeing if I can cope with the tech! And no I am NOT the new @piersmorgan BUT I will be presenting alongside @susannareid100 May 10-12 thru Mental Health Awareness Week.
"In addition to usual news, views and interviews hoping to draw attention to MH Issues which GMB have long championed. But also keen to get stuck in on all the big political stories post May 6 elections. No piano! Wish I’d been on this a.m!#johnlewisnightmare #Nolan #wallpaper"

He later confessed he was not happy about waking up early to get ready for the show as he said: "I must admit I am slightly dreading – make that totally dreading – getting out of bed in the middle of the night to get ready to present the show. But I am really looking forward to it."
Alastair reflected on the last few times he appeared on GMB, as he added: "I had some of my best fights when Nigel Farage was on there and Piers and I always had some good bust ups.”
