Singer Normani will be joining Ariana Grande on the “God Is A Woman” singer’s recently announced Sweetener World Tour as a supporting act. She will be joined by the rising duo Social House.
Ariana tweeted out the announcement, saying
excited to announce that #sweetenerworldtour w special guests, the beautiful and talented @normani & my dear friends (and ty next producers) @socialhousetc …”
The former Fifth Harmony member acknowledged and confirmed the announcement on Instagram, writing
excited would be an absolute understatement. I’m feeling special right now because I get to spend three months on tour with @arianagrande …”
In being the supporting act for a veteran solo artist’s world tour, Normani will be following in the footsteps of her ex-bandmates Camila Cabello, who supported Taylor Swift’s Reputation Tour, and Lauren Juaregui, who supported Halsey on her Hidden Fountain Kingdom Tour. Both Camila and Lauren have said in interviews that they had very positive experiences as supporting acts and, in turn, the fanbases of Camila and Lauren both helped bolster the turnout of two of the most financially successful tours of the last year – even though those tours were of different scales.
The Sweetener World Tour will kick off in Albany, New York on March 18, 2019 and will run through the spring. Normani is expected to perform at all major stops on the tour.
We have Ariana’s and Normani’s original social media announcements below.
