Ashlee Simpson wishes she could erase a few fashion moments from her “Autobiography.”
“I look back at my funny early-2000s looks and, I mean, my butt crack was definitely hanging out [in those pants],” Simpson, 33, told Page Six at Wednesday night’s New York Fashion Week kickoff party hosted by E! Entertainment, Elle magazine and IMG. “But the super-low rise was really in at the time!”
As the star of MTV’s “The Ashlee Simpson Show” from 2004 to 2005, Simpson sported ripped band tees, low-slung cargo pants and a Joan Jett-esque black dye job that set her apart from her older pop-singer sister, Jessica.
“There were also some wrestling boots involved, I remember, that I’d wear with lace skirts,” the star added.
In addition to embracing her natural blonde roots, Simpson now prefers to dress in more sophisticated (but still rocker-worthy) fare, like slouchy MSGM pantsuits and vinyl trousers by Elisabetta Franchi.
That is when she’s not dipping into her husband Evan Ross’ closet. “He has all these great blouses, and all this men’s Saint Laurent,” she gushed.
“She takes all my stuff,” Ross conceded.
