Asia Argento Is in Mourning For Anthony Bourdain on Instagram

As one might expect, Asia Argento is still in deep mourning over the passing of her late partner, Anthony Bourdain. Argento is using her Instagram account as a place to let her emotions pour out in a very honest, raw way that followers who have lost a loved one may relate to on a very deep level. On Friday, Argento posted a previously-unseen photo of Bourdain to mark the fact that he passed away two weeks ago, on June 8.

The photo Argento posted appears to be from an intimate vacation the couple took, but it’s unclear when or where they are. What is clear is that they both look very happy, with Bourdain behind Argento but leaning in close. The caption is simple, but a striking reminder of the loss Argento is processing: "Two weeks without you."

In addition to her commemorative post of Bourdain, Argento’s Instagram story from Thursday and Friday indicates that she has been weighed down by intense feelings of grief and sadness. We preserved some of the photos and screenshots from videos below.

In one photo, you can see Argento’s face, slightly obscured by a graphic of some sort, with the caption "Cosmic Sorrow." She may have been crying when the photo was taken as her eyes appear somewhat puffy.

One of the most heart-wrenching photos Argento posted made it evident she had been crying heavily, with tears still streaming down her face. Argento used the chorus of the Cat Power song "Where Is My Love" to caption the photo, with part of the caption reading: "Where is my love?/Where is my love?/Horse galloping/Bring him to me/Where is my love?/Where is my love?"

Argento has been very candid about her grieving process, sharing her journey with her followers in the weeks since Bourdain’s passing. Her official statement was posted to her Instagram mere hours after the news of his death surfaced.

"Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did," Argento wrote. "His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was my love, my rock, my protector. I am beyond devastated. My thoughts are with his family. I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine."
