Asia Argento releases statement on Anthony Bourdain’s suicide

Asia Argento broke her silence on Anthony Bourdain‘s suicide.

Bourdain hanged himself in a Paris hotel room at 61. Longtime friend Eric Ripert found his body on Friday.

“Anthony gave all of himself in everything he did. His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds,” Argento, 42, tweeted Friday.

“He was my love, my rock, my protector. I am beyond devastated. My thoughts are with his family. I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine.”

Argento and Bourdain met in 2016 when she appeared on “Parts Unknown.”

He was a fierce defender of the Italian actress in her campaign against Harvey Weinstein, who she accused of raping her two decades ago.

Bourdain recently credited his relationship with Argento for making him “happy in ways I didn’t think I ever would be, for sure.”
