The wildly popular DJ Avicii was spotted on a yacht with a drink in his hand and flashing the peace sign a day before he died, it was reported Saturday.
TMZ said the boat was off the shore of Muscat, the capital of Oman, where the 28-year-old — whose real name was Tim Bergling — was vacationing.
His older brother, David, flew to the Middle Eastern country to find out what killed him. Police said criminality was not suspected. No cause of death was released.
Avicii, who made $250,000 a night when he toured, had serious medical problems. His gall bladder and appendix were removed in 2014. He also suffered from acute pancreatitis brought on, in part, by heavy drinking, the BBC reported.
In 2016, he announced he’d no longer tour. “I am blessed to be able to travel all around the world and perform, but I have too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist,” he said at the time.
