Country star Brett Young released a new single, “You Got Away With It,” on Friday (February 26).
Young co-wrote “You Got Away With It” with several songwriters including Jimmy Robbins, Jon Nite, Ashley Gorley and Justin Ebach.
“You got a way with it / So don’t you go breakin’ it / Girl, you’ve been makin’ it tough for me to not love / Every little thing that you do, baby / You got a way with it (You got a way with it) / And girl I ain’t hatin’ it (And girl I ain’t hatin’ it) / It’s too late, I don’t want it back / It’s yours that’s that / You stole my heart / ‘Cause you got a way with it,” Young sings in the chorus.
“We’ve been recording a ton of music over the last year, and I couldn’t wait any longer to share some of the material from this new chapter. This song was a blast to write, and ultimately pushed me into a bit of a new sonic territory in the studio that I’m really proud of,” says a press release shared by Young.
Young’s previous release was “Lady,” a song inspired by his wife and daughter. It was certified gold by the RIAA and is currently in the Top 10 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
