Cardi B looked stunning as she made her first appearance since giving birth.
The 25-year-old debuted a new pixie crop as she opened the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards in New York.
The rapper, who welcomed a daughter in July, is nominated in 10 categories.
And she teased fans who thought they might get a first glimpse of the baby girl.
Cardi, who is married to Migos rapper Offset, appeared on stage cradling an object concealed in a towel.
But fans anxious to get a first glimpse of the little girl were disappointed when Cardi B revealed she was carrying a Moonman, the statue awarded to VMA winners.
She then introduced Canadian singer Shawn Mendes on to the stage, who performed his hit single In My Blood.
The first prize of the night, where all categories are gender neutral, was Best Hip-Hop. It was won by Nicki Minaj for her song Chun-Li.
