Cassadee Pope Covers ‘I Hope You Dance’

Cassadee Pope has released a new cover of Lee Ann Womack‘s “I Hope You Dance” as part of the Grand Ole Opry’s Radio Replay series, which spotlights songs that have inspired the artists performing them.

The cover was apparently meant to be as Pope says in the clip, “On the way here, this song popped up on my Spotify playlist.”

“I Hope You Dance,” Womack’s only Billboard number one, won the 2001 CMA, ACM, NSAI, ASCAP and BMI awards for Song of the Year, a Grammy for Best Country Song and was nominated for Song of the Year. “I Hope You Dance” reached its 2 million sales mark in the United States in October 2015, and as of August 2016, it has sold 2,093,000 digital copies in the US.
