She’s known to millions for her role as Eva Price on Coronation Street.
But Catherine Tyldesley may evade unwanted recognition from now on – after transforming her look with a surprise make-over.
The popular actress, 34, has swapped her trademark blonde hair for a new brunette style, which she debuted in Manchester on Thursday.
And, while many fans praised her image overhaul, others weren’t so sure about it.
Especially as she showcased the look in a sensible summer dress.
The Walkden actress, who’s played Eva for seven years, went for the chop at the Terence Paul salon in Hale, Cheshire.
There, hairdresser Calum Tierney spent four hours completing the colour transformation.
And, clearly, the mum-of-one was thrilled with the result – as she proved by tweeting her thanks to the salon’s staff.
“Thank you @calumtierney @TerencePaul for my fab new locks! Loving the change #goodbyeEva #brunettedays,” she said.
Catherine’s new look coincides with her departure from the ITV soap.
She’s waving goodbye to Weatherfield after a dramatic storyline which saw her character reclaim her baby, Susie, from Toyah Battersby.
In devastating scenes Toyah decided to tell her partner Peter Barlow the truth that Susie wasn’t their child with a surrogate, she is Eva’s daughter with Aidan Connor who took his own life last month.
Cath now wants to travel the world with her husband Tom Pitfield and young son Alfie.
But she previously told the M.E.N. she hopes the door will remain open for her return to the soap at some point in the future.
