‘You’re clearly a sick individual and everyone is an internet bada** but rather than attack an 11 year old like a bully,’ the president says.
Actor Peter Fonda has been blasted by Donald Trump for comments made about his son Barron in relation to the U.S. President’s controversial immigration policy.
Over 2,300 children have been separated from their families following the implementation of President Trump’s zero-tolerance policy, which allows law enforcement agents to detain minors away from their parents after they illegally cross over the Mexican border into the U.S.
Activists, politicians, and celebrities have been using social media to express their outrage over the approach, but Fonda has come under fire for suggesting the leader’s 12-year-old son Barron Trump should be taken away from his mum, First Lady Melania, so they can experience the trauma many of the illegal immigrants are going through.
“WE SHOULD RIP BARRON TRUMP FROM HIS MOTHER’S ARMS AND PUT HIM IN A CAGE WITH PEDOPHILES AND SEE IF MOTHER WILL WILL STAND UP AGAINST THE GIANT A**HOLE SHE IS MARRIED TO,” Fonda raged in a now-deleted tweet.
The Easy Rider star’s message prompted representatives from Melania’s office to alert agents at the U.S. Secret Service.
“(We are) aware of the Tweet made by Mr. Fonda,” a spokesperson for the Secret Service tells The Blast. “As a matter of practice, we do not comment on matters involving protective intelligence”.
And President Trump has now responded to Fonda’s message by slamming him as a “sick individual”.
“You’re clearly a sick individual and everyone is an internet bada** but rather than attack an 11 year old (sic) like a bully and a coward why don’t you pick on someone a bit bigger,” he fired back on Twitter. “LMK (let me know)”.
Fonda has not responded to President Trump, but White House representatives have since announced the U.S. leader will sign an executive order to end the divisive immigration policy.
