Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift release The Joker and The Queen with emotional video

Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have unveiled their latest collaboration with an epic video for new single The Joker And The Queen.

The two best pals have released a new version of Ed’s track, which first appeared on his album = last year, and the video continues the story of Everything Has Changed.

Unveiling the track, Ed tweeted: “The joker and queen featuring @taylorswift13 is out right now. Me and Taylor first met and wrote + recorded our first song together in 2012, ten yaers ago now, I’m so so honoured to have her on this song.

‘Not only is she the best singer/songwriter in the world but she’s also a very close friend, I’m very lucky to have her in my life.

‘For the music video we got the kids from our song Everything Has Changed, all grown up and off to college now!’

The 2013 video showed the pals’ imaginary children falling in love at school, while The Joker and The Queen picks up almost a decade later as the same actors reprise their roles, this time at different colleges and imagining a life together.

The young pair are seen reminiscing about their childhood as they navigate life at college, and they finally reunite in their hometown – where they first met – by the end of the video.

After the video dropped, Taylor wrote: ‘This video makes me think of our friendship all these years… also can’t believe Jack & Ava from the Everything Has Changed video came back and did this!! Nostalgic heaven! (sic)’

During the chorus, Ed sings: ‘And I know you could fall for a thousand kings/And hearts that would give you a diamond ring. When I fold, you see the best in me/The joker and the queen.’

No, YOU’RE crying!

Ed and Taylor have also teamed up for End Game and Run (Taylor’s Version), and he confirmed plans for their fourth collaboration earlier this week.

Speaking at the Brit Awards earlier this week, the 30-year-old singer dropped news of his latest single, telling LadBible: ‘It comes out Friday and it’s with Taylor Swift.’

The next morning, he officially announced the track, sharing a snippet on his Twitter account – and now it’s out in the world.
