Ellen DeGeneres Is Frustrated Over ‘Mean’ Rumors, Source Says It Hasn’t Been Easy

The daytime talk show host is reportedly struggling to deal with the claims from former employees that have discredited her, but is ‘so grateful to have Portia in her life as a soulmate and a sounding board.’

AceShowbizEllen DeGeneres is reportedly not handling the “mean” rumors surrounding her well. While she remains mum on the allegations leveled against her by some former employees, the comedian is reportedly struggling to deal with the claims that keep on coming and discrediting her.

“Ellen is at the end of her rope,” a source reveals in a new issue of Us Weekly of how the daytime talk show host is feeling now. “She thought this was all just sour grapes from a few haters. But it’s not a passing thing – the hits just keep coming.”

The 62-year-old is reportedly leaning on her wife Portia de Rossi and some trusted friends. “Ellen’s so grateful to have Portia in her life as a soulmate and a sounding board,” a second source dishes, before adding, “but that doesn’t mean it’s been easy. Their home life is strained right now. … Her real friends never ask her to be funny or tell jokes. They accept her as is.”

But the rumors don’t seem to affect the ratings of Ellen’s TV show. Of this, the source weighs in, “Ellen’s been in our homes for so long, it’ll take a lot more than a bodyguard and a blogger to change how people feel about her.” The source goes on noting, “Her best response is just being happy Ellen on the show every day.”

The claims about Ellen’s alleged bad manners began to swirl in March, after comedian Kevin T. Porter tweeted that he would donate $2 for every story about the 62-year-old TV personality. A self-proclaimed former employee said that Ellen has a “sensitive nose” and demands her staff take a chewing gum from a bowl outside her office before speaking to her.

Another shared, “A new staff member was told ‘every day she picks someone different to really hate. It’s not your fault, just suck it up for the day and she’ll be mean to someone else the next day.’ They didn’t believe it but it ended up being entirely true.”

Later in April, YouTuber Nikkie de Jager a.k.a. Nikkie Tutorials claimed that Ellen was being “cold and distant” when she appeared as a guest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in January. In the same month, Variety reported that the Emmy winner left her in the dark about their jobs and pay during the global crisis.

Sharing similar story, a bodyguard who was assigned to protect Ellen at the 2014 Oscars accused her of being “cold” and “demeaning.” Tom Majercak, a senior manager of operations for Security Imagery Specialists, told Fox News that the “Finding Dory” star “has never taken the time to say hi to me.”
