England could be without three players for World Cup third-place play-off

England have multiple injury concerns ahead of their World Cup third-place play-off with Belgium.

Gareth Southgate’s men were knocked out by Croatia in extra-time in the semi-final on Wednesday night.

They now take on Belgium on Saturday but Southgate could be without three members of his first XI.

Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier and Jordan Henderson are all doubts for the clash with Belgium, who beat England in the final match of the group stages.

All three players were taken off during the defeat to Croatia and may not feature with one eye on the start of next season with their respective clubs.

Trippier, who opened the scoring in Moscow with a stunning free-kick, was forced off in extra-time and was seen receiving treatment on the bench.

Despite the injury concerns, all 23 members of Gareth Southgate’s squad will remain in Russia for the encounter with Belgium.

The likes of Jack Butland, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabian Delph and Marcus Rashford will all hope to start.
