Just like The Rock, Stanley Tucci, and Woody Harrelson, Terry Crews is one of those guys who totally rocks being bald. But here’s something you may not know about the ripped Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor famous for his dancing pecs: He hasn’t actually lost his hair.
In a Monday interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host played a clip from Crews’ new movie, Sorry to Bother You. Check him out around the 30-second mark:
“By the way, you had hair in that clip,” Kimmel pointed out. “Did they put that on, or are you able to just grow hair when you want to?”
“I am living a lie, because I am really not bald at all,” Crews replied. “I shave my head every day. But see, the thing is, if it grows in, people will go, ‘Who is he? What is that?’ And people get really disturbed when I grow it. So I’ve been this way for 30 years.”
“That has got to make bald men mad, that you choose to be bald,” Kimmel pointed out.
“Oh, they do!” Crews replied. “They look at me like, ‘Okay, that’s cool. Okay. He’s buying razors. Alright. Okay.'”
Of course, not all bald — or balding — dudes are hating on their hair loss. In June, Ashton Kutcher told Conan O’Brien he’s been losing his hair since he was 25, and that three years ago, he decided to stop taking medication for it. (“I’m a baseball cap guy, so I think I’m OK,” he said. “I’ve established myself as a baseball cap wearing individual.) There’s also a thriving community of proud bald men on Reddit.
