Gogglebox stars Jenny Newby and Lee Riley have parted ways after spending three months in a coronavirus bubble with one another. However, they have taken to social media to tease fans, suggesting that they will reunite again soon.
SEE YOU ALL IN SEPTEMBER
The fan favourites had recently left viewers and social media followers confused after sharing a cryptic post saying it was their “last one” when it came to filming the latest series.
Social media went wild as some believed that the best friends would be preparing to leave the programme.
However, they later clarified that they meant it was their last day filming for series 17 which came to an end last night.
After clarifying their awkward moment, Lee has since taken to Twitter dropping a major hint.
In view of their 219,800 followers, he shared an adorable picture of the pair, with Lee holding a television remote and Jenny holding her hands in the air.
Alongside the picture, Lee wrote: “Thanks for watching Goggleboxers time for Jenny to see her husband after 3 months with me,
“Really going to miss her tho, have a great summer everyone.
“SEE YOU ALL IN SEPTEMBER [sic]”.
The post that has since attracted almost 2000 likes in just several hours was soon flooded with compliments from the pair’s fans.
One follower replied: “Have a great summer, fingers crossed we get one. Gonna miss laughing along with you both… Friday nights just won’t be the same. Take care, keep well [sic].”
While a second added: “Have a great summer both of you. Thanks for making the pandemic a little easier with your fun & laughter on a Friday night. See you in September.”
“Oh, I love you two. Friday night will not be the same without you. Enjoy your Summer,” tweeted a third.
Jenny and Lee made the decision to bubble up together in order to deliver content for the weekly programme due to coronavirus restrictions.
Before lockdown restrictions eased, overnight stays and meeting indoors with another household was prohibited unless you had formed a secure bubble with another person.
The pair decided to join forces and reside in Lee’s caravan in Holderness, Hull.
Jenny will now head home to be alongside her husband, Ray, who prefers to live a life away from the spotlight.
The former pub landlady recently opened up to her best friend of over 20 years, saying she never discloses her real age to people.
She said to Lee: “I’m 66 you know, I get my pension in June, I’ve been notified.”
Lee said in response: “You are one of those old women aren’t you who goes ‘don’t you know how old I am, I’m 66 you know?”
Jenny replied: “Oh no I don’t ever say that I tell them I’m 48 and I’ve had a hard life.
“I never tell anybody I’m 66, even though I’m not really bothered about my age.”
