Leicester defender Harry Maguire has promised that England will not be taking anything for granted against Tunisia.
The Three Lions open their World Cup campaign against the North Africans on Monday and the expectation is that Gareth Southgate’s men will reach the last 16 along with Belgium from a group that also includes Costa Rica.
But England will not be taking any chances in Kaliningrad.
Maguire said: “You only have to watch one of Tunisia’s recent games to see they are a good side.
“There are a lot of teams at the World Cup that you watch and you didn’t realise they were as good as they actually are.
“But to be in the tournament you have to be a good side. It is hard to qualify and you don’t go into many games knowing that it is a guaranteed three points.
“We know we’ve got to work hard in every game. We’re definitely not going to underestimate them.”
Maguire, who paid to travel to France to cheer England on in Euro 2016, added: “We know Tunisia are a good team but we have enough ability and talent ourselves.
“We are all really positive. We are young, we are hungry, we are going to go there and play with no fear.
“In tournaments, you win a couple of games and you gain momentum and confidence, and you don’t really set limits on where you want to finish.
“Good things happen and people all of a sudden start to believe. That is what we are hoping for.”
