I’m A Celebrity’s Andy Whyment says he can’t wait to get back to his ‘boring life’ of Asda food shops

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! runner up Andy Whyment has admitted he’s looking forward to getting back to his “normal boring life” after finding fame in the Australian jungle.

The 38 year old Coronation Street actor, who has played Kirk Sutherland on the soap for 19 years, said he was pleased people got to know the real him away from his soap role as he led the jungle but, he’s now looking forward to his humble daily life.

Speaking through tears in his emotional exit interview to Ant and Dec on the live final of the show, Andy admitted he was surprised he got as far as the final.

He said: “That’s what means so much, I’ve done Dancing On Ice and things like that but this was 24 hours a day, so to know that the people have got behind me and vote for Andy after playing a character for so long.

“When I walk down the street all it is is: ‘There’s Kirk! There’s Kirk!’ But, to get people saying, ‘There’s Andy,’ it’s just gonna feel amazing to know that people have got being Andy Whyment rather than Kirk it feels amazing and I just wanna say thank you so much for everyone that’s voted for me.”
