Mike Tindall, 44, arrived at the lavish 5-star JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort alongside his royal wife Zara Tindall, 41, after weeks apart. In clips taken in the hotel, Mike received a hero’s welcome as he was greeted by his former campmates including Seann Walsh, Scarlette Douglas and Sue Cleaver.

The rugby ace could be seen raising his arms in celebration as he entered the hotel after being evicted from the jungle.

He then hugged his campmates before heading off with Zara for a shower and some food in one of the hotel’s plush suites.

Taking to Instagram, Mike shared a loved-up selfie of himself and Zara as she gazed into his eyes.

In the caption, Mike wrote: “Reunited!!! Back to normality and time to eat!!! Thanks for all the kind messages! It was a blast!” (sic)

He then showed off what he had enjoyed for his first meal back in civilisation.

First, Mike shared a snap of a latte before digging into a crumpet with a dollop of butter on top.

Not stopping there, Mike proudly showcased his main course consisting of a giant bacon and cheese burger with a generous portion of fries.

Many of his friends took to the comments, including Crimewatch presenter Rav Wilding, who said: “Well in Tins.”

Ex-Love Island star Frankie Foster added: “Champ.” And rugby star Danny Care echoed: “Awesome brother.”

It is unclear if the royal couple will stay in the hotel for the next 48 hours along with the other contestants.

In his eviction interview on ITV Mike told hosts Ant and Dec: “I’m good. It’s been a long time. I can feel my body was getting ready to go. I’m pretty comfortable with it.”

The former sportsman – who has been married to Zara Tindall, the niece of King Charles, since 2011 – loved his time in the jungle and explained that his positive attitude helped him to overcome the challenge.

He said: “It’s been a lot of laughs. That’s the best thing. You can get through anything when the humour is good.”

Mike also revealed that he’d mentally prepared himself for the challenge before he entered the jungle.

The World Cup-winning star explained: “Before I went in, I imagined the worst-case scenario. Then you can deal with everything that’s coming at you.

“The only time I almost had a little wobble was when we had the night-time challenge. But then Seann had a wobble, and I could just go back to focus on [helping] Seann.”

Jill Scott, Owen Warner and Matt Hancock will now battle it out to become the next King or Queen of the Jungle in the I’m A Celebrity final.

It will air live at 9pm on ITV.
