Jurgen Klopp insists he would be "surprised" if Liverpool have agreed a £62m fee for Lyon star Nabil Fekir during the 1-0 loss against Chelsea.
A reported €70m deal would include bonuses and RMC Sport and Canal+ claim the deal was smoothed over by former Anfield chief Gerard Houllier, who is an advisor to OL president Jean-Michel Aulas.
But Klopp has poured water on the speculation as the Reds prepare to splash the rest of the £142m acquired from Barcelona in the Philippe Coutinho sale in January.
Klopp responded: "During the game, we agreed a deal?! I would be surprised about that to be honest. No comment."
The report added that the Reds would also pursue Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona after his disappointing debut campaign at the Nou Camp and Klopp confirmed his interest.
"Oooh, is he on the market? Now i am interested," Klopp remarked. "I never comment on transfer rumours."
The Reds are already awaiting the arrival of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig after agreeing to pay his release clause (£48m) in addition to a significant premium ranging from £9m to £18m depending on the German club’s final position in the Bundesliga.
The France international has reportedly agreed a five-year contract with the Reds and his brother Yassin Fekir was also join him at Anfield.
The report from RMC Sport and Canal+ adds that Klopp will also aim to sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.
The news will be a major boost for Reds supporters and proof of owner John W Henry’s intention to take Liverpool back to the top of the game.
Klopp has proven the potential of this side by taking them to the Champions League final where they will take on Real Madrid.
But with Chelsea now just three points behind in the Premier League and able to move level with a game to spare, further additions will be needed to challenge for the title.
