Kanye West was busy playing Connect 4 during the birth of his daughter Chicago, who was welcomed via surrogate in January.
“I made Kourtney [Kardashian] be in the room,” Kim Kardashian said on Ellen DeGeneres on Monday. “We had a connecting room and Kanye was in there playing Connect 4 with his friends and not really paying attention and I was like, ‘Kourtney, I need you to be here with me’ … she just, you know, it’s your sister. You need a support system.”
Later in the interview, DeGeneres asked Kardashian, “Did he stop playing Connect 4 at some point?” While Kardashian avoided directly answering the question, she did say, “It’s his favorite game. He’s the best at it. I’m so bad at it.”
He’s also famously played the game with Beyoncé.

Of the birth, Kardashian, 37, added, “It was great. I mean it was so easy and the second she came out, any fear that I had of will I not have this connection? Will she not look like me? All of that goes out the door and instantly she’s ours.”
The mother of three also explained why they didn’t name the baby after West’s beloved late mom, Donda.
“He really wanted his mother’s name, and I love that name too, but I just wasn’t sure,” she said. “It’s so much to live up to.”
Other names they tossed around were Jo, after Kim’s grandmother, and Grace.
They decided to go with Chicago, West’s hometown.
“That is a place that made him, and a place that he remembers his family from,” she said, adding she thought the name was “cool and different.”
Kardashian and West are also parents to 4-year-old North and 2-year-old Saint.
