Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway took to Instagram yesterday and spoke candidly about the struggles her family have gone through but thanked fans for their support. It comes after the small-screen star has kept a relatively low-profile on social media.
The 53-year-old explained she had suffered “ghastly times” as her husband Derek Draper, 52, remains in hospital since being admitted in March.
Kate opened up about the family struggles and admitted the “future” remains “uncertain”.
In view of her 870,000, the GMB star shared a lengthy post where she was inundated with messages of support.
Kate penned: “Thank you so much to @hellomag for helping me to bring you some of my hopes and plans for the future.

“The future we are really hoping for, Derek recovering & coming home is not nearly in sight & very uncertain.”
She continued: “But it feels positive to share how we are trying to keep ourselves going as I know so many are dealing with terrible challenges in all sorts of ways as we all try to emerge from these ghastly times, just as we continue to hope Derek can emerge from his minimum state of consciousness.”
Kate went onto say: “I hope reading this helps in some way. Thank you everyone for your lovely good wishes and for sending me your stories of how you’ve been coping too.
“I hope that some of the @hellomag piece brings some comfort – we’re all in this together.”
She finished: “For all of you messaging me on clubgarraway.com who are also having a rough time, keep the hope alive and keep moving forwards. I will be sharing more there soon.”
Celebrity pals and fans alike offered heartfelt messages to Kate as they sent their well wishes.
Her GMB co-star Susanna Reid wrote: “Huge love for you all,” while Charlotte Hawkins penned: “Sending a huge hug.”
This Morning presenter Rochelle Humes remarked: “Praying for you all as always.”

Meanwhile, Kate has revealed her husband “looked so different” as she shared an update on his health.
The GMB host remains hopeful after doctors said Derek had a “minimum state of consciousness” following weeks in intensive care.

Although he has fought off the coronavirus infection, Kate said her husband had “lost a huge amount of weight” during his health battle.
She revealed her husband “looked so different” on FaceTime after he shaved because his beard had grown “so long”.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, Kate explained: “Derek’s lost a huge amount of weight and when the nurse shaved him because his beard had grown so long, he looked so different.
“[Their children] had never seen him without stubble or a beard before. During their chats, they tell him what they’ve been doing and their sense of humour often shines through.”
