Seeing as Katherine Langford said goodbye to Hannah Baker in an emotional Instagram post last month, we figured the chances of her coming back for 13 Reasons Why, season 3 are basically zero. But while it looks unlikely that the character will return for the new episodes, not all hope is lost.
“I think that 13 Reasons Why, you know, even if Hannah isn’t in a season three, her story is something I’m gonna carry with me and I think also a lot of other people are gonna carry with them and I just hope that, if anything, I can be there in a small way on social media,” she told ET about her potential involvement.
"Hannah…I love you…and I let you go" Those are the words I was able to say six months ago, and now can finally share with you as my journey on @13reasonswhy has officially come to an end…as most of you know, this was my first ever job and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to tell Hannah's story so fully in season 1, and to be asked back for a season 2. Thankyou to @netflix @paramountpics @anoncontent , the incredible producers, creatives, cast and crew for making these last 2 years so special. And to all of you here – Thankyou for filling my life with love and light ? This show will always be a special part of my life, and regardless of whether Hannah is there or not, I know that I will continue to strive to do work that is meaningful and has a positive impact – whether that be in film, music, or any other form of art. There is a lot coming up this next year, and I can't wait to share it with you ? #hannahbaker
But wait! It got better.
“I mean, if they want me…that’s all up to them,” she added about joining the upcoming season.
So, could this mean that Hannah could make an appearance??? Possibly, but, as of right now, there are no plans for that to happen.
The Australian actress continued, “Hannah is… Hannah’s done, Hannah’s wrapped, I’m so glad I got to tell her story, it was really special.”
No matter what happens, Hannah Baker will always be one of the most impactful characters we’ve ever gotten the privilege to know.
