Katie Price was branded a "bad mum" by some disapproving followers as she announced that her son Harvey Price had set up his own Instagram page.
The former glamour model’s 16-year-old has featured regularly on her social media, but now has his own account to share his thoughts and his artwork with the world.
While some fans rushed to follow Katie’s son, who is severely disabled, others hit out at the former glamour model for exposing him to trolling, despite her passionate campaign to shield him from online bullies.
Harvey’s account comes within days of Katie winning the backing of MPs for Harvey’s Law , to make online abuse a crime after he was abused by vile trolls on the internet.
Within hours of launching his account, Harvey had more than 32,000 followers.
At the time of writing, Harvey was only following two people, his mum and his little brother, Junior, whose account is not public.
One angry follower wrote: "And award to stupidest mother goes to …..just why after what hes been through. Keep the poor lad away from the evil".
Meanwhile another agreed: "What a shame. Now Harvey is up for the full onslaught of haters who have already bullied him all his life. What are you doing mother dearest…."
A third chipped in: "As a vulnerable young adult I think his account should be set to private and not open to everyone, and anyone."
However, others were quick to jump to Katie’s defence, questioning why Harvey should have to live without an Instagram page because of online bullies.
"Many saying you shouldn’t do it, well stuff them, because at the end of the day any one should be able to have an Instagram and not be trolled and called names," one follower wrote, before adding: "Good on you Harvey !! Just keep an eye on things Katie ! X"
Plus, several others suggested a safer solution, advising Peter Andre’s ex that she should consider making his account private so that only his friends can follow him.
"I also have a son with autism and understand why he may want his own insta account although I’ve noticed anyone can follow him, maybe it should be private like juniors?? Xx," one wrote.
Harvey has written in his bio that he likes "frogs", "drawing" and "Gatwick express".
He also tells people this is his official account and that "My mummy is @officialkatieprice".
So far, Harvey has posted pictures of himself and videos welcoming people to his Instagram , as well as photographs of his drawings.
Mirror Online have contacted Katie for comment on the criticism.
