Katya Jones, 29, took to Instagram to share her worries about an important personal milestone with her 134,000 followers. The Strictly Come Dancing pro, who is married to fellow dancer Neil Jones, 36, spoke out on her impending 30th birthday in a post this morning. Sharing a glamorous photo of herself in a sparkling black dress, the star made a surprising admission about her concerns over the milestone. She wrote: “In exactly a month I’m turning 30. I’m not going to lie, it really really freaks me out. I think about it almost every day.”
The star continued to explain that she still feels very young at heart, adding: “I’m pretty sure it’s not going to be any different and I’ll still be acting like I’m five.
“But for some reason in my head I feel like I need to prepare myself for something.”
The Russian choreographer then appealed to her fans for help and advice, asking: “What is it like to be 30? Let me know what do I need to prepare myself for??”
Katya followed this up by revealing that she is planning on denying her age as much as possible, concluding: “Btw. Not celebrating it makes me feel like I’ll stay 29 forever.
“Thanks @iambrfr for capturing me at 5 years and 288 month years old. #thirty#dirtythirty #whatitsreallylike#lifeafterthirty #freakingout.”(sic)
Fortunately, the dancer’s followers took to the comments section of the post in an attempt to ease her panic.
One supporter wrote: “Just chill the older u are the more prettier and in ur case u cant be any more prettier and you have more power.”(sic)
Another added: “I’m mid 30s and loving it, it’s so much better than your 20s. You have absolutely nothing to worry about.”
A third fan reassured the star: “Katya you are beautiful, age is a number although I was exactly like you hated turning 30 but when I got there and beyond it felt no different.”
A fourth agreed: “I turn 30 2 days before you and I know your exact feeling. I still act like a child and feel like I’m 21. You look and are fabulous and will continue to be fabulous!”
Elsewhere, Katya recently experienced another shocking moment when she heard the news that Strictly judge Darcey Bussell, 49, would not be returning to the BBC show this year.
Addressing the announcement in a tweet to her 67,000 followers, the ballroom and Latin champion responded to Darcey’s statement with a heartfelt message of support.
In an initial post, she wrote: “@DarceyOfficial we will miss you so much!
“What a privilege to have worked with you for the past three years! Always so passionate about dancing!!!
“Wishing you all the best in whatever you do, always shining bright! Lots of love!!!”
She then added in a separate tweet: “We love you Darcey! You always had smile on your face even when giving a critique, and have always been so complimentary and passionate about professionals!
“It’s an honour to have worked with you on strictly! Xx”
