Khloé Kardashian is speaking out about family separation.
“It has been heartbreaking to watch what has been going on at the border, and impossible to comprehend that we live in a country where children are torn from the arms of their parents, who are dealt the ultimate punishment for wanting a better life for their families,” the reality star tweeted on Friday.
Kardashian, 33, expressed her views after headlines have consumed the week’s news of immigrant families being separated at the Mexican border and images of children being held in detention centers.
“Whether you believe that refugees should be allowed into this country or not, this is not how human beings treat each other. This is not how we foster love and acceptance. This is not who we are,” she continued.
Crediting her outrage to being the new mom of baby True, Kardashian encouraged her followers to keep the conversation going, saying that “we have to do better than this.”
“There are thousands of children now separated from their parents and we must not let these children be forgotten, nor can we let this moment be forgotten. Please tweet, talk, call, post, write, donate,” she wrote, sharing a link to a donation website.
The “Revenge Body” host’s social media plea comes on the heels of sister Kim Kardashian‘s successful effort to help former inmate Alice Johnson have her life jail sentence commuted after meeting with President Donald Trump.
