Friends have warned Lisa Armstrong against making any more public outbursts after she hit out at ex-husband Ant McPartlin’s team on Instagram, sources have told new!.

After Ant and pal Declan Donnelly, both 45, were handed the NTA for Best Presenter for the 20th year in a row their agent, Simon Jones, took to Instagram to tell of his pride.

But Lisa, 44, was quick to comment, writing beneath his gushing post: “And you don’t care who you screw over in the process… well done.”

New's source said: “Lisa feels she has every right to stand up for herself and friends agree – but they think the public nature of it isn’t doing her any favours. They’ve warned her it could make her look bad and it’s better to keep a dignified silence. They don’t want her to dwell on the past.”

Lisa and Ant’s 23-year relationship and 11-year marriage came to an end in January 2018.

She had stood by her childhood sweetheart during his sobriety battle – including a court appearance for drink-driving and two rehab stints. Sources reported at the time that she put her own dreams of becoming a mum on hold to support Ant.

Months after their split, his romance with former PA Anne-Marie Corbett – who he wed in August this year – was made public. At the time, Lisa blasted it as a betrayal and claimed she’d been friends with Anne-Marie.

The Strictly make-up artist later hinted she had been fired from Britain’s Got Talent in 2018 due to Ant’s return as a presenter, liking a tweet that read, “For you to lose your job because of your ex is very unfair and unjust, you’re a beautiful soul. You hold your head up while others’ masks slip.”

The source told new, “Lisa still feels she was betrayed by Ant and the people who worked with him. It was a really hard time for her and despite moving on, she still hasn’t forgotten.

“She felt she was a huge part of Ant’s success. They were together for so long and she was his rock through so much. She supported him and feels she helped him get to where he is now. When they broke up, Lisa felt she was cast aside by a lot of people – and that hurt.”

Lisa and Ant signed off on their divorce last year amid reports Ant was to give her half his estimated £62 million fortune.

Lisa has since found happiness with boyfriend James Green, who she went public with earlier this year. They were even said to be viewing houses.

“Lisa loves James and she doesn’t feel she’s the bitter woman,” the magazine's source said. “People think she lashes out because she’s still not over Ant but the truth is she’s not forgotten or forgiven how she was treated. She just feels she’s still owed an apology.”
