Lisa Armstrong’s support network revealed after ‘fall out with Dec’ over Ant

Lisa Armstrong is relying on a tight support network of loyal friends in the wake of her split from Ant McPartlin.

After the shock news of Ant’s new relationship with their former PA Anne-Marie Corbett, Lisa has really found out who her friends are.

She has reportedly fallen out with Declan Donnelly and his wife Ali Astall over the split as Dec sides with his best friend.

Lisa is said to be "disappointed" by the reluctance of some of her celebrity friends to offer their support in her time of need.

Meanwhile, it’s thought that a big group of showbiz friends including Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield and Simon Cowell are trying to be "Switzerland" and staying neutral.

"Simon Cowell is also staying neutral, but he’s shown his support for Ant by assuring him his job on BGT is waiting for him when he’s ready," a source told the Sun .

And the impending divorce is splitting their friendship group down the middle.

For example, Vernon Kay is good friends with Ant through work and golf.

But his wife Tess Daly is close to Lisa because they’ve worked for years together on Strictly Come Dancing.

"Lisa has loads of really close friends on Strictly – they see her as so much more than a brilliant make up artist – and they are totally Team Lisa," the source added.

It’s expected Lisa will remain in her job as head of the makeup team on Strictly but she might give up her place on Britain’s Got Talent if Ant returns to the show next year.

This is despite Stephen Mulhern continuing to support her.

"Stephen Mulhern has made the effort to show his support , which means a great deal to her as his career is so intertwined with Ant and Dec," the source added.

Lisa’s closest friends include Shiarra Bell, who is married to the former Oasis guitarist Andy Bell.

She is also close to fellow celebrity makeup artists Emma White Turle and Georgia Woodland and celebrity hairstylist Lisa Davey.

Meanwhile Clare Buckfield, Dec’s ex and one of Lisa’s oldest friends, has remained close.

But Lisa’s best friend this week has been Craig Young – who she’s currently staying with in LA.

She’s been catching up with her old Deuce bandmate in the sunshine as she tries to leave her troubles behind.

The pair were in the pop group back when a teenage Lisa first met Ant on the Smash Hits tour in Newcastle in 1994.

And this week Lisa and Craig relived the good old days as they hung out in the States and were pictured enjoying a hike in the Hollywood Hills.
