Ian Rush was optimistic after Liverpool found out their opponents in the group stage of the Champions League.
"It’s going to be difficult" said the former Reds strike ace. "Nothing will be easy."
Jurgen Klopp’s men have been handed a difficult-looking Group C, alongside French champions Paris Saint-Germain and Italian runners-up Napoli.
Red Star Belgrade, back in the competition for the first time in over 25 years, complete the quartet.
But Rush was clear that last year’s finalists should approach their latest bid for a sixth European Cup with confidence and gusto.
" Liverpool got to the final last year and they’ve got a stronger squad this year," he continued.
"PSG over the last few years have got stronger and stronger and one of their big desires is going to be to win the Champions League in a similar way to Manchester City . They are going to be going out for it so it will be difficult but saying that PSG will find it tough too.
"This is what it’s all about the Champions League, clubs getting stronger and you love to play in these games."
The Reds, with their much-vaunted front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah, proved last season that they can score against anyone.
And fan reaction to the draw in Monaco was mixed, between those who can’t wait and those who believe the Merseysiders’ face a difficult group stage.
