Louis Tomlinson welcomes his royal namesake to the world

Louis Tomlinson has reason to celebrate the birth of the new prince: the two share a name.

“Young Louis welcome to the world. I’ll take you under my wing lad,” the British born One Direction alum, 26, tweeted on Friday. “The Adidas tracksuit is in the post!”

Kensington Palace announced Friday that Prince William and Kate Middleton named their third child Louis Arthur Charles. The young prince, who was born Monday in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London, will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.

According to bookies, Tomlinson had little chance of sharing a name with the newest royal. Prior to Prince Louis’ name announcement, the odds laid with Arthur, Albert, James, or Philip for the little prince.

Prince Louis is now fifth in line for the throne. He’s behind grandfather Prince Philip, dad Prince William, and older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The newest addition to the royal family bumped Prince Harry to sixth in line for the throne. The proud uncle is set to wed American Meghan Markle on May 19.
