Love Island’s Gemma Owen shares kiss with Luca after mum warns ‘no more drama’

Love Island star Gemma Owen was warned by her mum to swear off drama as she returned home to the family’s £4million mansion after eight long weeks in the Island villa.

The 19 year old international dressage rider had featured on the most recent series of the popular dating show which saw her couple up to 23 year old Luca Bish, a fishmonger from Brighton.

However the couple narrowly missed out on the win last week, as they came second to Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu and Davide Sanclimente who won the public vote by a landslide.

Following her exit from the villa, Gemma was reunited with her mum Louise Bonsall and three siblings on Wednesday as her family greeted her at the airport in an emotional but elated reunion.

Her famous dad Michael Owen however stayed away from the public reunion and instead opted to reunite with his daughter at home.

Sharing a few heartfelt snaps of their reunion over the weekend, the former Liverpool FC striker could be seen soaking up the sun with Gemma in their Cheshire mansion, as doting wife Louise shared the photos on Instagram.

Although in one cheeky nod to the “cursed beanbag” from the latest series, Louise deftly quipped: "Oh no not more drama!!” beside the images of Gemma and Michael seated on the now infamous yellow beanbag.

The tongue in cheek comment was a direct reference to a “curse” that both the Islanders and fans at home were convinced affected anyone that was caught sitting on it during the show.

During their time in the villa, the contestants and viewers at home had noticed a surprising trend amongst the Islanders, with drama occurring every time someone sat on the sunshine hued seat.

While the comments were shared in jest, it did lead some fans to wonder if there was more truth in the rumours after Gemma and Luca appeared to be at odds with each other during this year’s reunion show which filmed on Wednesday.

Initially, the pair arrived together looking smitten and in high spirits, however this soon changed as the pair were leaving, with Gemma looking increasingly unimpressed with her partner over a disagreement, that is rumoured to have been so severe, producers had to intervene.

Luca himself even confirmed a disagreement had taken place, as a photographer jokingly quipped: "You've got your hands full there!”

Immediately after the comment was made, the Brighton based star quickly replied : "Oh don't mate, she's got the right hump with me!" – suggesting their romance could be on the rocks already, just a few days after they left the villa.

However, despite any rift that may have been present, it appeared to be short-lived as Gemma went on to share a picture of the two of them from the same night on social media as they lovingly posed together in chic matching outfits.

Their romance was also further confirmed on Saturday, as the pair were spotted sharing a kiss together while enjoying a lunch date in London.

The romantic display laid to bed any rumours of a split between the pair, with further snub speculation from the dressage rider’s family also quickly stamped out.
