Man United supporters love what Martial tweeted at Liverpool fan

Anthony Martial impressed Manchester United fans on Twitter with his witty message to a Liverpool fan who claims he kissed the Reds’ badge in front of him.

The Frenchman has been seemingly down in the dumps over the past few months, after struggling for regular game time at Old Trafford and subsequently missing out on a place in the 22-man France squad for the World Cup.

Everything suggested that the former Monaco man would be on his way out of the club this summer, but he showed his true colours on social media this week with a witty reply to a Liverpool fan.

According to the fan, who tweeted at Martial in French, he recently walked past the forward wearing a Liverpool jersey.

Martial is then alleged to have made a gesture that the shirt he was wearing was ‘dirty’, to which the Liverpool fan responded by kissing the Reds badge in front of Martial.

The supporter re-told the story as above on Twitter, and caught the attention of Martial, who seemingly confirmed it genuinely happened with his response.

Tweeting alongside a wink emoji, the forward replied in French, writing: "You should change your jersey".

Manchester United fans were quick to catch wind of the exchange, and many took to Twitter to share Martial’s response and reply to it with one of their own.

One supporter wrote: "You tell em Tony!", while another added: "Once a Red!".

Others suggested that the tweet is a clear indication that Martial is going to stay, despite being linked with a move away from the club.
