Mariah Carey, 51, is one of a number of celebrities who shared their support for Britney Spears, 39, as she embarked on her court hearing in a bid to end her 2008 conservatorship. The Oops I Did It Again singer gave a 20-minute testimony at a special public hearing on Wednesday, appearing virtually.

Mariah took to Twitter to show her support for her pal, saying: “We love you Britney!!! Stay strong.”

“We love you SO MUCH,” wrote singer Tinashe, who was a featured artist on Spears’s 2016 single Slumber Party.

Halsey also spoke out, slamming those who think it’s OK to govern someone else’s reproductive health.

It comes after Britney claimed that the controversial guardianship contract has prevented her from having another baby, admitting that she has an “IUD” in her body.

Halsey penned: “Bless Britney and I hope with my whole heart she is awarded freedom from this abusive system. She deserves it more than anything.

“I admire her courage for speaking up for herself today.

She added: “Additionally, f**k anyone who thinks they have the authority as an institution or individual to control a person’s reproductive health. #FreeBritney.”

The pop star gave a very raw and moving speech about how the conservatorship, which has controlled her money and affairs since 2008, was destroying her life.

She told the judge: “I am not happy, I can’t sleep. I’m so angry, it’s insane. And I’m depressed.

“The last time I spoke to you [the judge] … made me feel like I was dead. I am telling you again because I am not lying … so maybe you can understand the depth and the degree and the damages … I deserve changes.”

She told Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny that she wants the conservatorship ended without further medical assessment, as it is “doing me way more harm than good”.

The case has garnered worldwide attention, with Britney’s boyfriend Sam Asghari shared how he was wearing a “Free Britney” t-shirt ahead of her hearing on Instagram.

The 27-year-old posted the image on his stories alongside a lion emoji hours before she was scheduled to speak.

The #FreeBritney campaign was started by the singer’s fans who feel she should end her conservatorship.
