Marnie Simpson gives birth to baby boy with Casey Johnson

Marnie Simpson has given birth to her first child with boyfriend Casey Johnson – a little boy.

The 27-year-old Geordie Shore star revealed she'd become a mum in a statement to OK! magazine.

She was 12 days overdue and had told followers earlier this week she was booked in for an induction to get things moving.

"Marnie gave birth to a beautiful baby boy yesterday afternoon. Mother and son are both doing well," they both said in their statement.

Marnie and Casey are yet to announce the name or weight of their new bundle of joy.

Reality star Marnie had told her fans she was "suffering" earlier this week after going more than a week over her due date.

"So blessed to have this human in my life. I've suffered so badly the last week as I'm now ten days over due and I have to admit it's tough," she captioned a picture of her nine months pregnant bump.

"Words can't explain the discomfort, but generally wouldn't be able to get through it without you. Love you so much. I'm so lucky to have you by my side."

She added that she'd booked her induction, saying: "This little guy is coming whether he likes it or not."

The happy couple have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their little boy since announcing they were expecting back in April, telling OK! magazine they were over the moon.

Marnie didn't think she would be able to conceive after years of binge-drinking on the MTV show that rocketed her to fame.

"Because I'd done Geordie Shore I'd convinced myself that I couldn't have kids because of all the alcohol abuse," she admitted.

And she confessed she was terrified about giving birth, telling the magazine: "I'm really nervous. I can't even talk about it, I get so scared. I'll make sure I've got some lip gloss and eyeliner. I don't want to be a mess!"

Marnie also opened up about the abortion she'd had at the age of 19, adding: "When I look back I definitely feel I made the right decision. I don't regret it. I was so young, I didn't have a job, a driving licence, or any money."

Casey, who first appeared on The X Factor in 2014 as part of the Stereo Kicks boyband, before joining Union J for a short while, added that knowing he was set to be a dad for the first time "feels amazing".

Since announcing her pregnancy, Marnie has been documenting her journey to motherhood.

Earlier in October she shared a snap of Casey touching her bump as she stood in a leopard-print bikini.

"OMG 39 weeks pregnant wtf !!! 1 week (hopefully) and I will become a mother, and @caseycodyj will become a father and we’ll become a family and I’m so freakin excited!!!" she wrote.

"I'm so happy me and casey get to experience this together It's gonna be so intense, my mind can't cope with the Emotions it's so overwhelming Im so full of love i could burst!!!!

"Roll on the next 7 days baby boy mammy and daddy are ready & waiting the count down is ONNNN!!!"

The couple first got together in June 2017 after meeting on the set of MTV show Singer AF and split in October 2018 before quickly reuniting.

It wasn't long before they had some special news to unveil, and Marnie gushed on her Instagram: "How did I get so lucky and soon it will be the 3 of us."

Casey had been proudly supporting Marnie's pregnancy on his own Insta, documenting her progress and telling her how proud he was of her hard work.

"I am proud of many things in my life but nothing beats this," he wrote next to a snap of them cuddling her bump.

He was also her rock during her rough start to pregnancy, telling followers in June: "Marnie's Pregnancy has got tough as she’s got bigger, Seeing her struggle with all the nausea and the tiredness has been hard."

And Casey shared his joy when the couple threw their gender reveal party in May, firing off a confetti cannon packed with blue paper.

"O M G !!!! ME &  @marns  ARE HAVING A BOY!!!" he wrote at the time.

"Can't thank everybody enough for the support & for coming to the gender reveal! Marnie you are going to be a great mum! I can't wait to meet you baby Johnson!!!"

He added: "P.S i thought I'd won the World Cup when it popped blue!"

Back in August, Marnie was honest and open about the toll pregnancy was taking on her physical and emotional health.

"In the beginning I suffered with nausea, but since getting past 20 weeks I've been a lot better," she shared.

"Considering how bad some people's pregnancies are, I think it's been alright. I feel so swollen and bloated, I can't wait for him to arrive now."

Marnie had also opened up about her fear of labour, telling fans she'd been up in the night crying about it.

"My anxiety about labour and birth has really got to me tonight, I've cried a lot," she wrote on her Instagram Story.

"All these assumptions in me head have got so out of control, I'm absolutely terrified and just so scared of the unknown, more scared for my bladder and the aftermath."

She went on: "I just hope everything will be ok and I'll get through it! I hope I've made the right decision having a natural birth."

Congratulations, Marnie and Casey!
