Meghan Markle has added some sophisticated edge to her royal wardrobe with a leather skirt on two occasions now. The first time was during her visit to Brighton with Prince Harry in October 2018. The number was an emerald piece, from BOSS by Hugo Boss, which matched the deep green & Other Stories blouse she wore for her and Prince Harry’s inaugural visit to Sussex. Paired with nude pumps and a low bun, the whole look was a classy ensemble for the couple’s first trip to their namesake region.
The fabric may be more evocative of rock ‘n’ roll than royalty, but the pencil skirt fit in perfectly with Markle’s signature style, which has included neutrals and deep hues, streamlined silhouettes, and a professional feel.
And just today, Meghan wore the same lambskin skirt design, this time in a vivid red shade.

Diana paired her piece with a soft black jacket, pumps, and a small envelope clutch. She almost matched with the band when she met them at the show.
Meghan has paid multiple tributes to Diana’s style, whether intentional or not, since stepping into the royal spotlight. Most famously, her 16-foot veil at the royal wedding was monarch-length—a name inspired by Diana’s bridal look at her 1981 nuptials to Prince Charles. Meghan even wore the late princess’ aquamarine cocktail ring to the reception later that night.
We’re sure this isn’t the last time the Duchess of Sussex will honor the late princess.
