The Spice Girls star and the ‘X Factor U.K.’ alum are set to take part in a bike race along with athlete Chris Froome to raise money to gift bicycles to the NHS frontline workers.
AceShowbiz -Mel C and Olly Murs are among the stars helping to gift bikes to frontline workers at Britain’s NHS (National Health Service) by taking part in a virtual cycling race.
Taking place on Sunday, June 7, 2020 evening, the stars will be up against cyclist Chris Froome when they take part in “The Race: Wheels for Heroes” on virtual training platform Zwift.
Froome will challenge Spice Girls star Mel, former “The X FactorU.K.” contestant Olly, and a host of other famous friends on Zwift’s Watopia Volcano circuit.
To make the contest fair, each contestant will have completed a 20 minute functional threshold power test before the race and, dependant on their numbers, they will then set off in intervals based upon their fitness ability – with Froome setting off last.
The main goal of the event is to raise money for the Wheels for Heroes incentive, for which bike brand Brompton is helping to manufacture 1,000 extra bikes for NHS workers to use for safe commuting during the coronavirus pandemic.
Tune in on Sky Sports and Zwift’s YouTube channel from 7.30 P.M. BST.
