Michael McIntyre returns to stage after mugging and it’s already in his routine

Funnyman Michael McIntyre has told an audience in Dublin of the horror moment he was mugged.

The comedian was targeted earlier this week by hammer-wielding moped thugs while on the school run with his son in London.

He panicked when masked muggers pulled up alongside his car on a moped before demanding his watch.

Despite the trauma he made it to Dublin and laughed along with the 3Arena audience as he recounted the terrifying incident.

The 42-year-old said: "It’s lovely here – I flew in this afternoon and I can tell you I am moving here – f**k London.

"It’s nice to be alive. It has not been a great week. I’m on edge.

"Yeah, I’m okay. We’re okay. I’ll be honest, I could have done with you lot, seriously, nine thousand Dubliners."

Putting on a Dublin accent, he added: "We got your back, we got your back, Who do ye think you’re f*****g with?

"Unfortunately I was to fend for myself; it didn’t go well. Think the film Taken with me as Liam Neeson – the polar opposite.

"It wasn’t The Fast And The Furious; rather I was stationary and f*****g panicking.

"I was in the car – I couldn’t get it started. It is supposed to be fight or flight – I have a new one, just f*****g freeze."

He thanked well wishers for their advice but added: "Everyone has been so amazingly supportive, they just keep saying to me that it is just going to take time, time is the healer.

"Yeah? I’ve lost my f*****g watch – how is time going to heal anything when I can’t tell what time it is?

"I now know why people get Rolex watches – to find out the precise time they are mugged.

"It is nice to be back on stage – it was touch and go whether I was going to come here."

Earlier today, Michael smiled as he proudly showed off his new watch.

Dressed in trousers and a green shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, Michael was spotted leaving his North London home with a big smile on his face, showing that he’s not letting what happened affect him too much.

And he happily showed off his new time piece as he made his way to the car.

And this time, he had a driver and a minder with him, perhaps for added security.

The star appeared chirpy and even chatted to photographers as he headed to his car, saying: "Morning, lads. Drama is all over and now it’s back to work. Have a great day."

Michael has also had his Range Rover repaired after it was damaged by the thieves.
