Jennifer Hough, who dropped harassment lawsuit against the ‘Super Freaky Girl’ raptress earlier this year, says in a new interview that she was pressured to press charges against Kenneth Petty.
AceShowbiz –Nicki Minaj‘s husband Kenneth Petty may be serving a sentence for a crime that he didn’t commit all this time. A woman, who accused Kenneth of rape back in 1994 when she was 16 years old, has seemed to admit that she was lying on him.
In a new interview via video call, Kenneth’s alleged victim Jennifer Hough admitted that she was pressured to press charges against him. She also said that she’s the one who wanted to drop the charges against Kenneth. “I said I wanted to drop charges because I had made a mistake. I was young,” she said during the interview.
Kenneth was convicted of the first-degree attempted rape in 1995. He was sentenced to 18 to 54 months, but spent four years in prison. In July, Kenneth was sentenced to home confinement for failing to register as a sex offender in California. He was sentenced to a year under house arrest in addition to three years probation and a $50,000 fine.
Meanwhile, Jennifer filed a lawsuit against Nicki in August 2021, claiming that the “Anaconda” femcee and her husband tried to threaten her into recanting her accusation of rape. She also accused the couple of intentional infliction of emotional distress and alleged sexual assault and battery, referring to the 1994 incident.
However, in January of this year, Jennifer dropped the harassment lawsuit. “The case against Nicki was voluntarily dismissed. The case against Kenneth Petty is still ongoing. Stay tuned!” her lawyer Tyrone Blackburn told PEOPLE at the time.
Nicki’s lawyer Judd Bernstein told Jennifer’s lawyer he was pleased that they “came to their senses.” He wrote, “Your conduct in pursuing this case against Nicki represents the worst of our legal system: bottom-feeding lawyers who pursue frivolous actions against a celebrity assuming that they will be paid off if they throw up enough dirt.”
Still, Nicki planned to make Jennifer pay for money lost in legal fees as the star’s lawyer added, “It is just the beginning of Nicki’s and my efforts to make you pay for your disgraceful conduct with both money and, if the Court recommends it, disciplinary sanctions.”
