Amanda Owen, 46, took to her Twitter account yesterday to update fans on her children’s health as she admitted they would not be returning to school just yet after contracting coronavirus. The Yorkshire Shepherdess star has been keeping a low profile the last couple of weeks while the family makes a full recovery from Covid, as she called the situation a “nightmare”.

Amanda shared snaps of her daughters out swimming in a wild lake and typed: “They should be taking the plunge & going to school. Covid means that they are not going anywhere just yet.”

In response, one Twitter follower said they were “glad” Amanda had returned to social media after being noticeably quiet recently on the platform.

The TV star typed back: “Sort of Covid nightmare.”

While other fans wished Amanda well, as they hoped she and her family returned to full health soon.

A second follower commented: “The fact that you have got it in your remote location shows how it knows no boundaries and we must all stay vigilant. Wishing you all back to full health soon. Take care.”

A third replied: “The dreaded Covid has reached Ravenseat, hope you are all clear soon. More time for the girls to enjoy their home playground x.”

While a fourth said: “Hope all are making good recovery. In the meantime a superb place to live and recover.”

It comes as Amanda appeared at 5 On The Farm Fest two weeks ago, and was meant to appear alongside her 17-year-old son Reuben.

However, in a blow to the event, Reuben tested positive for Covid.

The youngster was set to appear alongside his mum on stage for the event.

On their Facebook page, the festival typed: “We wanted to reassure all of Reuben’s fans that he is not feeling unwell, but [we are] sure you [will] all join us in sending him our best wishes for a quick recovery.

“Amanda Owen has tested negative and is continuing to isolate and take daily PCR tests.

“Amanda is still hoping and looking forward to attending 5 on the Farm Festival to perform ‘The Yorkshire Shepherdess: Live’ on our Main Stage, and appear in The Barn and Signing Tent, as well as on The Kitchen stage.”

Amanda did not post for a while on social media until last Thursday when she shared a clip of young daughter Nancy skipping through a field.

She typed on Twitter on Thursday: “Making great strides.

“We’re fine but a few of us have been laid low with a dose of the [virus emoji]”

Amanda then made it clear that some of the family – but did not tell who – had the virus by adding several hashtags, which read: “#yorkshire #ill #recovery #COVID.”

The Yorkshire Shepherdess star and her husband Clive Owen, 66, are parents to Nancy, three, Clemmy, five, Anna, six, Sydney, eight, Violet, nine, Edith, 11, Miles,14, Reuben, 16, and Raven, 18.

The couple’s “free-range” children roam the Yorkshire countryside and get stuck in working on the farm.

They have no TV and no phones and work outside in all weather on their Ravenseat Farm located in the Yorkshire Dales.

It’s one of the most remote farms in Britain and spans 2000 acres and is 1,800ft above sea level.
