Pamela Anderson Isn’t A Supporter Of #MeToo

So far this year, we know Pamela Anderson hates threesomes and pre-engagement rings but does love Julian Assange. For reasons I still can’t figure out, Pam was interviewed recently for the Australian version of 60 Minutes. As you can guess, she used a bulk of it to stan for her boo Julian and compel the Australian Prime Minister to essentially overlook Julian’s legal matters and let him come back to the homeland. She also decided to wade into the #MeToo waters to cluck her tongue in disapproval —  because that has worked out so well for every other critic.

The Independent says Pam describes her relationship with Julian as a “romantic struggle.” This was kind of a foregone conclusion when she was pleading with Vice President Mike Pence to pardon Julian and somehow thought Kanye West’s support was a viable solution. She is still on that train when she made a personal plea to Australian PM Scott Morrison to bring Julian out of asylum at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London and back home Down Under:

“Ok, well Scott, get Julian his passport back and take him back to Australia and be proud of him.”

Blah blah blah. OK, so last year Pam tried to get her name in the papers by claiming women who were abused by Harvey Weinstein should have known what they were getting themselves into. She proved she was that annoying asshole in your high school history class who always had to take a contrarian point of view just to be a dick by then responding, “Backlash is good – I like this. My position is not ‘problematic’ because it doesn’t fall in line with the common herd or trend.” Well, she’s still welcoming the backlash with her take on #MeToo:

“I think this feminism can go too far.I’m a feminist, but I think that this third wave of feminism is a bore. I think it paralyzes men…I think that this #MeToo movement is a bit too much for me. I’m sorry, I’ll probably get killed for saying that … but my mother taught me, don’t go to a hotel with a stranger.”

I think some women who were paralyzed from employment growth might have a bone to pick with you at the Baywatch guard stand, Pam. Call me crazy, but Pam needs to really watch her words. With as impressive a resume as she has, if she isn’t careful, she might not get called back to do the Raw Justice reboot everyone in Tinseltown surely needs.
