Panic! At The Disco Reaches Top Of Billboard 200

Panic! at the Disco debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart for the week ended June 28 with their sixth studio album Pray for the Wicked.

The Jake Sinclair produced album’s lead single, “Say Amen (Saturday Night),” topped the Alternate Songs airplay list dated June 30, after 11 previous entries.

The band’s previous studio album Death of a Bachelor had also opened at No. 1 on the chart in 2016.

According to Billboard, Brendon Urie and company’s Pray for the Wicked sold 180,000 total copies – 151,000 of these in traditional album sales – in its first week of release, the best figures for an alternative rock album since U2‘s Songs of Experience debuted at No. 1 in on the chart dated December 23, 2017, selling 186,000 units.

Pray for the Wicked vinyl album sales, at 26,000 copies, turned out to be the fifth largest in a debut week for a vinyl effort in Nielsen Music history.
