Paul McCartney’s Mini Cooper Headed For Auction

A 1965 Mini Cooper S DeVille owned by Beatles legend Paul McCartney will be sold at a US auction next month.

The auction is scheduled for September 1, 2018 during the 11th Annual Auburn Auction held at the National Auto & Truck Museum, Illinois.

In 1965, Beatles’ manager Brian Epstein had ordered four Mini Cooper DeVille, which was a must-have at that time, for each band member. Three models were produced by Radford and one by British coachbuilder Hooper.

Paul McCartney’s Mini Cooper S was a Radford-built car, finished in California Sage Green and registered GGJ 382C. It had featured in the 1967 Magic Mystery Tour motion picture.

Earlier, Ringo Starr‘s 1966 Mini Cooper S Radford was bought in an auction by Geri Halliwell for £102,300. According to reports, George Harrison‘s Mini is still owned by his wife, while the whereabouts of John Lennon‘s mini is unknown.

In 2017, an Aston Martin originally owned by McCartney was sold at a London auction for just over £1.3 million.
