Piers Morgan, 56, was first diagnosed with Covid back in July, but the broadcaster has today admitted he is still struggling with symptoms. He made the admission after heading to Gordon Ramsey’s three Michelin star restaurant for a goodbye dinner for son Bertie Morgan.

Piers bid farewell to his third son as he planned to head to America for university.

The former GMB host shared a series of snaps from the dinner on his Instagram.

This featured him alongside his sons Bertie, Stanley Morgan and Spencer Morgan.

Piers penned alongside the images: “Fabulous bucket list dinner at the 3* Michelin @restaurantgordonramsay last night to send No3 son @bertie_morgan off to America on a well-earned university scholarship.”

However, the broadcaster went on to admit he is still struggling with Covid symptoms.

He added: “I still can’t taste or smell much 8 weeks on from covid (very boring, as is the fatigue… ) but the boys all declared it the best meal they’d ever had and the service & gastronomic experience was outstanding.

“Thanks to @chef.mattabe @jamespeterlloyd @tonyrimbault & the whole team for a truly stunning evening.

“And to @gordongram for the @domperignonofficial & kind good luck note to Bertie. Much appreciated!”

Piers thinks he first caught Covid when he attended the Euro 2020 final at Wembley.

In the days following England’s loss to Italy for the crown, he tested positive.

However, despite feeling better in many senses, the star has had a number of symptoms that have lingered.

Writing back at the beginning of August, he gave an update about this.

He explained on Twitter: “28-day Covid update..

“A new treat – aside from ongoing tedious fatigue & inability to taste wine, all the coughing’s caused a ‘posterior vitreous detachment’ in my left eye.

“I’m now seeing weird ghostly cobwebs swimming around. It really is the virus that keeps on giving.”

Some of Piers’ followers reacted to his most recent update as they shared their good wishes.

One wrote: “Sorry to hear you still can’t taste Piers, same with my mate he has never regained his taste or smell since he had covid. Good luck to Bertie.”

A second penned: “I had Covid in January now double vaxed & still can’t smell anything other than a burnt toast/ plastic smell.(sic)

“Food is quite tasteless now too..hoping my senses in more ways than one return very soon.”

“Couldn’t smell till about 10 weeks in and now it’s finally coming back,” added a third. “Horrible.”

A fourth quipped to the presenter: “How ironic that you could not taste the food!”
