Piers Morgan and Kate Garraway have finally reunited after months apart following his Good Morning Britain exit.

The 56 year old used to co-host the ITV daytime show alongside Susanna Reid and a handful of others, including Kate, but decided to quit his role following a row with weatherman Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle's comments in her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.

Since then, the TV presenter has been in regular contact with 54 year old Kate as she cares for her husband Derek Draper, also 54, who continues to suffer from the devastating impact of the coronavirus.

Now, six months after leaving the show, the pair have reunited as they embraced for a photo at an event on Tuesday 14 September evening.

The adorable snap shows Piers dressed in a black suit and tie as Kate wears a black dress with gold detailing while they both smile in each other's company.

"Reunited! First time we’ve seen each other since I left @gmb #whocareswins," Piers captioned the post.

Many of his 1.8 million fans were quick to comment on their sweet moment as one person wrote: "If anyone deserves a hug it’s Kate," followed by two red heart emojis.

Another said: "Love this photo," with a red heart emoji as a third chimed: "Such a great pic of you both," followed by a clapping hands emoji.

Piers has been an avid supporter of Kate since her husband fell ill with coronavirus last year.

Most recently, the TV personality shared how "desperately unfair" he feels it is that his pal Kate's husband Derek never had the chance to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

Piers himself had contracted the deadly bug while at the Euro 2020 final this year after being double jabbed, but has since recovered.

During his battle with the virus, the star couldn't help but think of his former colleague Kate and Derek.

He highlighted that the key difference between himself and Derek is that Piers caught the virus after having had both doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine, while Kate's other half was left totally unprotected.

Recalling a recent conversation with blonde beauty Kate, Piers wrote in his Mail On Sunday column: "When Kate told me what her daily routine is now like, it exhausted me just listening to her. 'I don't know how you do it,' I said.

"'What choice do I have?' She replied. 'Derek is the love of my life.' Then, being Kate, she turned the subject back to me and my Covid experience. 'Anyway, how are YOU getting on?'"

Joking, Piers said his bout of the bug was "far worse" as he couldn't taste his wine, before turning serious.

"'You know, Kate,' I replied, more seriously, 'I've been thinking about you guys so much in the past week. I've felt pretty awful with Covid but the vaccine may well have saved my life. Derek never had the chance to take one. That just seems so desperately unfair.'

"'It is,' she agreed, 'but I just hope everyone who can take it, does. I wouldn't wish what we're going through on anyone.'"
