Meghan Markle got to spent some quality time with her new grandmother-in-law today as the pair visited Cheshire for a packed day of official engagements.
It was the new Duchess of Sussex’s first royal visited without husband Prince Harry and it looked like she really enjoyed it.
She was seen chatting with the Queen and the women were seen giggling away at several points.
And just in case we needed further proof Meghan is getting along swimmingly with her most important in-law, she showed off a very special present the Queen gave her.
Buckingham Palace has revealed the stunning pearl drop earring Meghan is wearing were a gift from her majesty.
The earrings are very similar to the ones the Queen herself was wearing today.
We don’t know when she gave the American actress the earrings, so we can’t be sure if they were a gift to mark their first outing together or not.
The Duchess wore a dress by Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy for the trip, the same designer who made her stunning wedding gown.
She picked a cream midi dress with a flattering boxy cape overlay, teamed with black accessories.
She wore her hair down but had some troubles with the windy weather earlier in the day.
As always, the Queen opted for a bright number picking lime green for the trip.
Meghan and the Queen travelled to Cheshire overnight in the Royal Train.
When they arrived they officially opened the Mersey Gateway Bridge in Widnes and the Storyhouse cultural centre in Chester before sitting down for a lunch in Chester Town Hall.
