Ranivr Singh, 43, made it to the semi-finals of Strictly Come Dancing with her partner Giovanni Pernice, 30, and the pair were embroiled in romance rumours right the way through the socially-distanced version of the competition. But despite causing quite a stir, the two denied the rumours, ruling out a romance much to fans’ disappointment.
Everybody was going crazy about it!
But in a recent interview, Ranvir acknowledged how people jumped to the conclusion about there being something between the two of them, with even the judges commenting on their obvious chemistry.
Smiling, she said: “I understand why people would think we might have become more than dance partners.
“On It Takes Two, Giovanni had his hand on my knee and we were holding hands.
“Everybody was going crazy about it!”
She continued to explain: “I didn’t even notice because we’d spent all day with our bodies pressed together learning the foxtrot.”
The Good Morning Britain presenter giggled as she told Hello! Magazine that she found the multiple rumours that they were physically entwined “quite amusing” and if anything, it made them both laugh.
Gio previously spoke out about the notorious Strictly curse, which sees couples become involved in romantic relationships.
“Every year there’s always a romance rumour with a different partner,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
“I mean, even if you don’t have a partner there’s a rumour.
“The thing is you get very close when you dance with another person, but dancing is equal to acting. You have to deliver a performance. Each dance is a different story.
“If people at home or the judges think you have a great connection then it means my job, what I’m doing, is perfect. We deliver exactly what the dances require.”
He added: “Remember, we are actors.”

The dancer confirmed that they are just “very close friends”, putting the rumours to bed once and for all.
Following their steamy partnership, it seems the dancer is now up for being a part of a same-sex couple as he spoke of wanting to be paired with a man on the next series.
Wanting to follow in the footsteps of fellow pro Katya Jones who was partnered with former boxing star Nicola Adams on the show last year, he told The Mirror: “It’s not down to me, but if the production people come to me and said ‘listen Giovanni we’d love you to be partnered with a man’ I’d say ‘yes’.
“I am more than ready to be partnered with a man.
“It would give me a chance to challenge myself with new routines, you have to think more about it.”
He smiled: “I love challenging myself.”
Good Morning Britain continues weekdays at 6am on ITV and Strictly will return later this year to BBC One.
