Renee Rockefeller, daughter-in-law of former Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, is once again in trouble.
The socialite, who denied accusations of shoplifting at a resort in Mexico in February, was pulled over in the Hamptons and officers noticed “bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech,” reports the Southampton Press.
She reportedly told police she had had a glass of wine and tequila and “performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test.”
But her lawyer tells us, “Renee was stopped for using her cell phone, which is a 5-point ticket. I appeared for her . . . [and] a fine was paid for a no-point, non-criminal infraction and the case was closed with no further charges.”
Of the shoplifting incident, Rockefeller told us at the time, “The whole thing is nothing . . . FALSE.”
